What a great time this was! I know Brother, Greg, really appreciated his gift. I think this is something the group should do again this Christmas. What a great cause!!!
Kids Give Back is a club that creates and identifies opportunities for school aged children to help out in their local community and beyond; the organization's goal is to show that everyone (no matter how young or old) can make a difference as they seve, care, love and share together. By learning about social responsibility from an early age, these children will not only bring about postitive social results, they will grow into positive leaders. Kids Give Back strives to show children how they can spread kindness and God's love through simple, yet meaniningful actions.
Purpose:
* Teaches kids that they can make a positive difference in the community.
* Shows children how to reach out to others and the benefits of doing good things for others.
* Connects children with other families who share the vision of volunteering together for the common good.
* Instills passion for service and community involvement in young children.
Kids Give Back believes that one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids is helping them develop the capacity to care about others and the community as a whole. It is important to teach children to reach out, to get involved, and to learn about the issues and events that affect their lives. We want to help parents show their children that the world does not revolve around them; the community and the world are much bigger than their own backyards. Ultimately we want to help kids understand that it is everyone's responsibility to reach out and help others; to participate in positive, community building activities; and to work toward making the world a better place.
Studies have shown that children who volunteer from an early age adopt healthy lifestyle choices, learn life skills, and continue to volunteer into adulthood. As parents, it is our responsibility to be positive role models for our childeren. Kids Give Back stives to provide a variety of opportunities for children to learn these critical lessons with their parents. It is never too early to involve kids in activities that benefit the community!
